Manhattan Beach is an incredibly safe environment with low crime rates and many residents who have been living in the area for a long time. However, one of the drawbacks of the city is its lack of affordability and diversity. Manhattan Beach is one of the least diverse areas in the South Bay and the cost of living is very high. When comparing Manhattan Beach to other communities with a similar population, its crime rate (combined violent and property crimes) is higher than average.
